Kate has worked as a school library media specialist and is currently an academic librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Her current position involves selecting children’s literature and curriculum resources and advising students how to choose and use these items with children in a variety of educational, therapeutic, and personal settings. Co-presenter Dr. Julie Bates-Maves is an associate professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UW-Stout. Kate and Julie love books, and have teamed up to talk about trauma, bibliotherapy, and children’s literature to college students, teachers, and early childhood professionals.
